Traditional Mobile Phones

If you don’t have a Smart phone you can still use traditional mobile phones by using standard text messaging (SMS).

To start your session simply send a text (SMS) with the word Start followed by your PIN.

1. Send an SMS

With one of the commands

*denotes that you must enter your PIN number after the command, e.g. DONE 1234

CommandDescription
START*Starts a new lone working session using your default strategy. If a session is already running you will be informed of that.
DONE *Ends the active lone working session.
SAFE *Indicates you are safe, the lone working session will continue until stopped.
PANICStarts the panic mode (even if an existing session is running)
FIRESends a fire roster list to your seleceted email addresses

2. Verify response

MyTeamSafe will respond with a verification message, or an error to indicate that something went wrong.

Verification messages :

 

When STARTING a session correctly Via SMS then you will get a verification saying the following :

Thank you, we have recorded your status ‘STARTED’ Please delete your old messages in order to keep your PIN secret.

 

When STOPPING a session correctly via SMS then you will get a verification saying the following :

Thank you, we have recorded your status ‘STOPPED’ Please delete your old messages in order to keep your PIN secret.

 

When CHECKING IN correctly via SMS then you will get a verification saying the following :

Thank you, we have recorded your status ‘SAFE’ Please delete your old messages in order to keep your PIN secret.

 

ERROR messages :

 

If you have written your pin in incorrectly then you will get a error message back saying the following :

Sorry – it appears something has gone wrong (‘The pin does not match’)

Use the mobile app or reply to this message with your status and PIN. Your reply can include START, SAFE, PANIC or DONE. Example ‘DONE ‘8888’

 

If you haven’t specified a pin then you will get a error message saying the following : 

Sorry, I dont understand. Use the mobile app OR reply to this message with your status and PIN. Your reply can include START, SAFE, PANIC or DONE. Example ‘DONE ‘8888’

 

Smart Phones no internet

If you have no internet when starting your app, you will see this. Once a button is pushed you will be redirected to your text screen to send out a message to MyTeamSafe via SMS. If you are connected to the internet or have 3g/4G connectivity you can use the app but if you have ran out of data the app cannot be used and you will have to use SMS commands.

No mobile data

If you have ran out of mobile data MyTeamSafe will let you know that you can use SMS as a fallback.  (Using SMS enables you to still use MyTeamSafe via SMS)
